Advent 2021: Grace Anticipated

"Grace Anticipated" reflects the profound expectation of the coming Messiah, a promise that has been foretold throughout the Old Testament. From the moment sin entered the world, God's plan of redemption was set into motion, and the anticipation of grace began. In Isaiah 11:1-5, we see this grace prophesied—a shoot from the stump of Jesse, a ruler who would embody wisdom, righteousness, and faithfulness. The people of Israel, living in a time of darkness and oppression, longed for this promised Savior who would bring justice and peace.

This anticipation of grace is not just about a distant hope but is rooted in the faithfulness of God's promises. The coming Messiah is the ultimate embodiment of God's grace—His unmerited favor towards humanity. As history unfolds, the lineage of grace is carefully preserved, leading to the birth of Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of all prophecies and expectations. "Grace Anticipated" is a reflection on the hope, longing, and preparation that characterize the Advent season, as we remember and celebrate the first coming of Christ while looking forward to His return.
