Training and Resources

Important Note: Just as with all preachers and authors, it's essential to acknowledge that we, as humans, are all tainted by sin. While we may appreciate various resources and authors, it's crucial to remember that the only infallible source we can fully trust in all matters of faith and doctrine is the Bible—God's own written word. Therefore, while exploring the resources and insights provided, it's vital to filter everything through the lens of Scripture. In the spirit of the Bereans (Acts 17:11), let's diligently search the Scriptures to verify and align with God's truth.

What is Evangelism?

Evangelism is the act of proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ with the aim of spreading the Good News and leading others to faith in Him. Rooted deeply in Christian tradition, evangelism embodies the mission of Jesus, who instructed His followers to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). It involves both sharing the Gospel message and living out one's faith in a way that attracts others to Christ.

Core Elements of Evangelism

Proclaiming the Gospel: At its heart, evangelism is about communicating the core message of Christianity—the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This involves explaining how Jesus' sacrifice offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life to those who believe in Him (John 3:16).

Living Out the Faith: Effective evangelism is not only about verbal witness but also about embodying the teachings of Christ in daily life. This means demonstrating love, compassion, and integrity, which can open doors for meaningful conversations about faith.

Invitation to Faith: Evangelism includes inviting individuals to respond to the Gospel message. This may involve personal conversations, public preaching, or through various media. The goal is to present the message in a compelling way that encourages individuals to make a personal commitment to Jesus.

Biblical Basis for Evangelism

The New Testament emphasizes the importance of evangelism. Jesus Himself set the example through His ministry and commanded His disciples to continue His work. The Apostle Paul, in particular, exemplified fervent evangelism, traveling extensively to preach and establish churches (Acts 13:1-28:1ff).

Modern Evangelism

In today's context, evangelism takes many forms, including personal relationships, community outreach, media, and digital platforms. While methods may vary, the essence remains the same: sharing the transformative power of the Gospel and inviting others into a relationship with Christ.

Embracing the Call to Evangelism

Evangelism is a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith, calling believers to actively share the message of Jesus Christ and live out their faith in ways that draw others to Him. By understanding and practicing evangelism, Christians fulfill the Great Commission and contribute to the spread of the Gospel across the world.
