Our Doctrine

What We Teach

Carlton Oaks Baptist Church

OUR DOCTRINE: At Carlton Oaks Baptist Church, we hold firmly to the Bible as our ultimate, infallible authority for all matters of faith and practice. Our doctrine is grounded in the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000, which shapes our beliefs and practices. We also uphold modern doctrinal statements like the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy and the Statement on Social Justice & the Gospel, recognizing their value in maintaining clarity and unity within the church.

In addition to these contemporary affirmations, we acknowledge the enduring significance of historical creeds and confessions, such as the Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, Chalcedonian Definition, and the London Baptist Confession. These documents serve not to create new doctrines but to defend the foundational truths of the Christian faith. Rooted in Scripture and aligned with the rich history of Christian orthodoxy, these creeds help us maintain theological consistency and defend the gospel against false teachings throughout the ages.
